Title: Celebration of World Hearing Day by ISHA
Description: In 2023, the Indian Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ISHA) celebrated World Hearing Day with a series of events across multiple states. The West Bengal branch led an awareness march and hosted competitions for students from the Eastern Regional Centre of the Ali Yavar Jung National Institute Of Speech And Hearing Disabilities Divyangjan (AYJNISHD(D)) in Mumbai, aiming to increase awareness of hearing loss. In Madhya Pradesh, a workshop on speech and hearing health was conducted, attracting over a hundred students and neonatologists from two colleges. ISHA also organized a national video-making competition themed ‘Know Your Audiologist.’ Meanwhile, the Kerala branch held a day-long awareness and competition program at the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Hall in Kozhikode. Lastly, the Bihar branch initiated a walk-a-thon in Patna to further propagate awareness. These activities demonstrate ISHA’s commitment to promoting hearing health across India.
