Description: On World Hearing Day, the Branford Royal Infirmary (BRI) in England emphasized the importance of ear and hearing care for all, highlighting their collaborative efforts with the ENT department of the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QUEH) of Malawi. A valued professor and ENT surgeon affiliated with the collaboration underscored the value of hearing as it enables individuals to maintain relationships, participate in community activities, and experience life to the fullest. The World Health Organization has pointed out the prevalence of ear and hearing problems and in response to this, BRI committed to supporting the only two audiology centers in Malawi, located in the capital of Lilongwe and at the QECH in Blantyre, by donating several audiometers and has planned to continue this assistance in any way they can.
