Title: Access to Hearing Health and Related Issues
Description: In rural areas of Pakistan, there is a significant shortage of audiology and ENT services. This gap hampers early detection and intervention of hearing impairments, and often leaves many individuals, particularly women, without disability certificates, thus excluding them from disability data. To address this, a dialogue was organized between rural community leaders and government officials. The Special Assistant to the Chief Minister, who was the chief guest at this event, pledged to tackle this issue. The event, which was attended by 60 participants from rural Sindh, was coordinated by Danishkadah in partnership with MDI, with hearing screenings offered by SignOReb. Furthermore, we presented at a World Hearing Day event at the University of Karachi.
