Description: On World Hearing Day 2023, the Swarsangya Charitable Trust held a free hearing screening camp for newborns in Surat, India. Despite being a metropolitan city, Surat has a lack of awareness regarding the importance of neonatal hearing screening For many years, our organization has been working diligently to improve awareness around hearing loss. Information about the event was disseminated through social media, pamphlets, and banners. Around 100 newborns were screened with OAE testing and the results were given to parents in printed form. Additionally, the organization offered guidance to the parents and relatives about the importance of early hearing screenings, comparing its significance to vaccination, and emphasizing the vital role hearing screenings play in speech and language development.
