On March 6, 2023, Bowsher Polyclinic in Muscat, Oman, hosted a ‘World Hearing Day Awareness Event.’ The Head of the Polyclinic, Dr. Hanan Abdullah Al Mahrooqi, led the opening ceremony, which was attended by various Ministry of Health officials. The event aimed to educate a diverse audience, including policy makers, adolescents, adults, children, and healthcare workers, about ear care and management. A key feature was the provision of educational materials and training for primary care health workers. The WHO supplied informative posters, flyers, brochures, and videos about ear care and interventions, which were presented by ENT specialists and audiologists. Over 100 people attended, and hearing tests were offered based on a ‘Hearing Health Questionnaire’ survey. The event was publicized through social media platforms.
