Title: Ear & Hearing Health Services in Pidie Jaya, Aceh, at SMP 1 Meureudu
Description: The EHC/PGPKT Aceh Besar Committee organized a program on ear and hearing health services in Pidie Jaya, Aceh, Indonesia on March 18, 2023, at the SMP 1 Meureudu school. The event included an ENT examination, ear cleaning, and a hearing screening. A lecture on the topic “Deaf Due to Noise” was presented to promote youth awareness about noise pollution and was attended by 145 students. A “Noise Aware Pact” was signed as part of the campaign. The event also included a quiz with prizes, and ear examinations were conducted for 26 second-grade students. The hearing screening results showed that 16 students had normal hearing, while 10 students exhibited some degree of hearing loss. The school received plaques, banners, and educational posters on ear and hearing health. The event was conducted in collaboration with various health and educational institutions, including the Aceh Provincial Health Office and the Pidie Jaya Regional Government.
