Title: Ear and hearing care for all! Making it a reality at RUSH!
Description: The RUSH AuD program has been actively promoting its local, national, and international outreach initiatives through a series of social media posts since March 3rd. These initiatives include the commemoration of World Hearing Day, the Hearing the Call Chicago-West campaign that aims to minimize obstacles to hearing healthcare and has recently provided 14 patients with donated hearing aids through its Student Community Outreach Program of Excellence (SCOPE) clinic. Other activities include the ongoing hearing outreach efforts in the Dominican Republic, orchestrated by RUSH AuD graduates and students, as well as an upcoming volunteer trip by RUSH SAA to perform hearing screenings in an underserved Appalachian community. Additional efforts include RUSH AuD and SLP students conducting hearing screenings and educational sessions at the yearly Back to School Fair, and a planned Lunch and Learn session with AuD and SLP faculty for Better Hearing & Speech Month, targeting RUSH physicians and healthcare providers.
