Title: Bridging the Gap Between Hearing and Non-Hearing, Making Hearing for All a Reality
Description: A one-day workshop involving 38 local doctors and 6 policymakers was held on March 3, 2023, and emphasized how each participant can contribute to universal ear and hearing health care. The subsequent day, the Shandurai App was introduced to a select group of 26 stakeholders, including representatives from the medical faculty, government, and deaf community. The app, in line with World Hearing Day 2023’s theme, aims to make hearing a reality for all. The attendees praised the initiative and its concept. A grander commemoration took place at Mpilo Hospital in Matabeleland province, Zimbabwe, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, the WHO, the National Aids Council, and the deaf community. The event saw more than 560 attendees, with 359 individuals being screened for hearing loss.
