Description: Anwesha Kolkata organized several initiatives in celebration of World Hearing Day 2023. At a press conference, renowned ENT specialists discussed ear and hearing care, emphasizing the significance of early detection and intervention in managing hearing loss. This event gained significant attention in Bengali media. Public awareness initiatives included two educational vehicles that were utilized on the streets of Kolkata to educate the public on ear and hearing care. Performances by deaf youth in colleges and on the streets aimed at promoting safe listening practices. Additionally, sessions on hearing health and the use of the HearWho app were held for Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) workers and the community and several hearing screenings were organized for underprivileged children. Furthermore, WHO educational materials in Bengali were disseminated via social media and All India Radio Akashvani Kolkata produced a broadcast to share tips for maintaining healthy ears.
