Title: Ear and Hearing Care Mass Media Campaign and Enlightenment Program
Description: The Foundation for the Sick and Health Education (FFSHE) carried out a media education campaign on ear and hearing care across several national television networks such as Channels TV, African Independent TV (AIT), and Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). The programs were also globally accessible via live stream on social media platforms. Viewers were able to ask questions about ear health in real-time and receive immediate responses. Some individuals privately contacted the guest speakers and hosts for further advice and counseling. FFSHE’s president led these programs. If needed, viewers were guided to suitable primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare facilities. An article on World Hearing Day and ear care was published in the West African Journal of Medicine in March 2023. The aim of this initiative was to discourage harmful ear practices and promote proper healthcare referrals.
