Title: Ear and Hearing Care for All: “Let’s Be Innovative” Outreach

Starting on March 2, 2023, the Auditory and Vestibular Translational Research Cluster (AVTNC) and the Eisdell Moore Centre (EMC) co-hosted public outreach events for the World Hearing Day 2023 over the course of two days. The events, held at a local high school and the University of Auckland, targeted students, teachers, and university staff. The goal was to emphasize the significance of hearing care, focusing on technological advancements and innovative strategies that could ensure comprehensive ear and hearing care in the future. The events featured a range of activities, such as displaying World Hearing Day infographics and other outreach materials, showcasing scientific equipment like microscopes and noise level meters, fundraising for the National Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and conducting interactive “Be Innovative Challenge” activities.
