Description: The IAPO-sponsored Zoom webinar, with international participation, featured guests from the WHO, PAHO, and speakers from Latin American countries. Dr. Shelly Chadha from the WHO discussed the latest Training Manual and provided an update on global hearing loss, its impacts, and effective strategies for its prevention. Dr. Joao Fortes Furtado from the PAHO highlighted aspects of the recent World Report on Hearing relevant to America. Representatives from Argentina, Ecuador, and Costa Rica shared their experiences in overcoming challenges to implement Newborn Hearing Screening (NHS), cost-effective strategies, and emphasized on rehabilitation. The goal of the event was to promote dialogue and strategy sharing to aid countries without established NHS policies.
