Title: Hearing Disability Awareness Bitesized Session
Description: A 45-minute remote training session was conducted, catering to Health and Social Care professionals and those in Hospitality services, aimed at increasing awareness about hearing loss and impairments. The session was designed to help these professionals enhance their workplace experience for individuals with hearing issues. The training covered various topics, including an introduction to World Hearing Day, an explanation of hearing loss and deafness via audiograms, sharing personal experiences of deafness, discussing the Social Model of Disability, and the challenges faced due to hearing impairment. The session also explored ways to assist individuals with hearing loss, strategies to protect one’s hearing, and hypothetical scenarios to demonstrate how to help affected individuals.
