Title: Promoting ear and hearing care
Description: During World Hearing Day (WHD), a comprehensive program was conducted in the waiting room of a general outpatient clinic. The program included brief lectures on ear and hearing care, followed by hearing screenings for approximately a hundred patients, with 17 identified for potential hearing loss and referred for additional testing. Information was disseminated through handouts and discussions led by the Secretary of Disability who explained how to obtain hearing aids and the associated financial and educational benefits. The initiative was aimed at addressing all aspects of hearing loss as a lifelong condition and received support from hospital staff, students, Lion’s Club members, and other supportive institutions. This event was covered by television and newspaper interviews to further spread the information.
