“HearArt Fest: Celebrating Sounds and Silences” is a one-day festival taking place on World Hearing Day, designed to blend artistic expression with healthcare education to enhance hearing health awareness. The festival will showcase art exhibitions and educational performances by students from the State School for the Deaf in Accra, featuring role play that incorporates sign language. Interactive workshops on hearing loss prevention and demonstrations of the latest hearing technologies will also be held.
A key highlight will be a panel discussion with healthcare professionals, policymakers, and advocates to encourage policy enhancements in hearing care. Hosted in partnership with the Ghana National Association of the Deaf and the State School for the Deaf in Accra, this event aims to create an inclusive environment that educates and involves a broad audience, including policymakers, to catalyze systemic changes in ear and hearing care.
