The Audiology Department of Iran University of Medical Sciences has developed extensive programs for 2025, aligned with the World Hearing Day theme, “Changing Mindsets, Empower Yourself.”
Key initiatives include:
Education & Awareness: Conducting workshops for specialists, policymakers, individuals with hearing loss, and families to enhance early detection and rehabilitation skills.
Expanded Hearing Screenings: Achieving 100% newborn and school-age hearing screening coverage, extending to preschoolers and the elderly.
Information Dissemination: Increasing social media content to improve public access to hearing health information.
Scientific Research: Investigating misconceptions and developing practical solutions for public education.
International Collaboration: Strengthening partnerships, particularly with WHO, for resource sharing and expertise exchange.
Cultural Inclusion: Promoting social programs to foster a more supportive environment for individuals with hearing loss.
Building on past successes, the department remains committed to improving the quality of life for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community in Iran.
