Following the successful implementation of “Harmony of Senses: Bridging Ear and Eye Care” in 2024, Tzu Chi Philippines and the Philippine Academy of Audiology are advancing their commitment to accessible hearing healthcare through an innovative initiative.
The centerpiece of this year’s celebration is the launch of the Tzu Chi Hearing Aid Bank, the Philippines’ first Hearing Aid Bank. This is a pioneering program that exemplifies sustainable healthcare delivery through a circular economy model. This initiative will establish a comprehensive center for collecting, refurbishing, and distributing quality hearing aids sourced through Tzu Chi’s global network, creating a one-stop facility for hearing healthcare services for underserved Filipinos. The primary objective is to pioneer a sustainable model of hearing healthcare delivery through the Hearing Aid Bank by creating a circular economy of hearing aid redistribution that optimizes resource utilization, transforms beneficiaries into change agents, and cultivates a task-sharing ecosystem.
