This project is building on existing project and starting a new one.
Presently in Kano state there is little or no awareness on school hearing health as most world hearing day focus more on community hearing screening in past year.This year SHEF Nigeria will include school awareness program on ear and hearing health in kano state which will include training of teachers and parents on early identification of hearing loss in children and prompt referal.
Building on existing development of primary ear and Hearing care services in Kano state through organizing free Neonatal screening for childeren who are less than 30 days and parental counselling in one of the selected centers where we have trained primary health workers and providing technical support to the other primary health center in Tofa where trained health workers will conduct the awareness program and community hearing screeing themselves.
