Event Description:

The planned event will raise awareness about hearing health and noise pollution in Mbarara City’s Kizungu and Kajogo slums. It will engage 300 residents and 100 Boda-boda riders through:
1. Community Health Talks: Held at local gathering points that is Kizungu Market and Kajogo Playground, focusing on ear hygiene and hearing loss prevention.
2. Boda-Boda Rider Education: Interactive sessions to educate riders on the risks of prolonged noise exposure and ways to reduce noise pollution, including lowering speaker volumes and minimizing honking.
3. Collaboration with Local Leaders and Health Facilities: Local leaders will mobilize participation, while health facilities provide hearing screenings and ongoing support for affected individuals.
This event aims to promote long-term behavior change, enhance community awareness, and involve policy-makers in supporting sustainable hearing health initiatives.
