The seminar organized by the SIG for the Cyprus Association of Registered Speech-Language Pathologists addresses a critical gap in Cyprus by elevating the standard and scope of ear and hearing care. Currently, there may be limited public awareness and insufficient policy emphasis on the importance of early detection, prevention, and tailored interventions in hearing health. This event aims to bridge these gaps by: Enhancing Awareness, Promoting Interdisciplinary Collaboration, Advocating for Policy Change (The event serves as a platform to advocate for better health policies that prioritize access to spoken language
as the main goal for implanted infants), Implementing P4 Health Practices to SLP (The introduction of the P4 medical model-predictive, preventive, personalized, and participatory-is novel in Cyprus’s healthcare landscape and SLP), Building Capacity: The seminar aims to enhance the capabilities of professionals such as SLPs, audiologists, and ENT specialists.
