Title: Hearing and Vocal Hygiene

Description:

Serbian Society of Otorhinolaryngology organized a two-day symposium in Belgrade, Serbia, under the title: Hearing and Vocal Hygiene, to mark the annual World Hearing Day 2023.
On March 6th, we gathered otolaryngologists, audiologists and speech therapists who analyzed the following subjects:
I masterclass shed light on the importance of early hearing loss detection in neonates and infants and the role of neonatal hearing loss screening program. We emphasized the link between speech impediments and hearing loss and discussed tinnitus as an early symptom of hearing impairment.
II masterclass focused on current hearing loss treatment options- both hearing aids and available surgical techniques.
On March 7th, we additionally welcomed our phoniatricians and vocal coaches.
III masterclass concentrated on hearing loss prevention, while tackling the problem of occupational and daily noise exposure along with ototoxicity.
Finally, IV masterclass brought attention to vocal hygiene, while illustrating various ways of maintaining a healthy voice.
