Title: Varun Arjun Medical College and Rohilkhand Hospital- Department of ENT, World Hearing Day 2023 celebrations
Description: With focus on rural population, free Ear & hearing screening camps were conducted for more than 3000 people and children, at Govt.primary school, Piprauli, Ram Murari public school, Katra, Rural Health Training Centre, and our ENT OPD, Shahjahanpur, Uttarpradesh in March 2023. More than 250 audiometric tests, Hearing aid trials were performed. Free Ear surgeries were done for 30 patients. A drawing competition on “Ear Problems & Remedies” was also held for the young children, who expressed their thoughts with enthusiasm. An interactive awareness session was held with children, parents and teachers. A common practice of application of hot oils into the ear was identified in the community and people were sensitized about the Do’s and Don’ts in Ear care. An awareness rally was done at Saijana village. Training session was conducted for young doctors using WHO training materials. An Interstate level Live Endoscopic Ear Surgery workshop was also conducted.
