Title: Making Ear and Hearing Care Accessible and Affordable in Northwest Nigeria
Description: Our event span for 1 week as it was targeted at the WHO theme of ear and hearing care for all.Our aim was to raise awareness to the public and the policy makers in Kano State Nigeria, the first and only State government in Northwest Nigeria that has commenced a dedicated services for the people with ear disease and hearing loss and encourage implementation of national strategy plan for ear and hearing care.
We had radio awareness program on the 3rd of march 2023 where audiologist ENT Surgeon and teacher of the deaf spoke on steps to prevent hearing loss and where people can access treatment in Kano State,this was repeated twice.
On March 8 2023 we had a free neonatal screening for all at risk babies that parent consented to testing using DPOAE and hands on training for nurses in O and G,ENT and neonatal wards .
