Title: SCREENING FOR SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF

Description:

Hui’er Ghana Hearing embarked on a school hearing screening for the pupils of Tetteh Ocloo State School for the Deaf located at Tema . A total number of 242 people were screened, thus 225 pupils and 17 teaching and non-teaching staffs. Out of 225 pupils screened, 72 pupils had PTA ranging between 70-80 dB HL. Pupils within ages 5-7years, who have aidable hearing loss may have the opportunity to benefit from hearing aids or cochlea implant, and with speech therapy they may have the chance to using oral language for communication. children with aidable hearing loss are placed or enrolled in the schools for the deaf, to learn and communicate with sign language due to of the poor socio-economic status of their families. our organization looks forward to writing to organizations and individuals who will be willing to support raise funds to help give these children hope and better lives.
