Title: World Hearing Day 2023
Description: Activities were conducted on the occasion of world hearing day, from 27th February to 4th March 2023, highlighting the theme ‘Ear and Hearing Care – Making it a reality for all’. Events included awareness rallies, exhibits on hearing, guest lectures by experts, hearing screening camps, student competitions, and creative activities to reach out to the public. Awareness rallies were conducted within the University campus and at Elliot’s beach, a popular destination to access the public. Boards and banners with themes related to hearing care were displayed and pamphlets were distributed to more than 1000 people from the general public. The students performed mimes conveying messages about ear-hearing care. Hearing screening camps were conducted at three different locations, covering population across different age ranges. A total of 202 individuals were screened, and 46 individuals were referred for detailed evaluations. Guest lectures were delivered by a renowned ENT specialist and an audiologist.
