Description: THE SHADES CENTER OF EXCELLENCE, MUMBAI 400012, conducted an event entitled “ Ear and Hearing Care for All” to promote social awareness in the general public of the residential society. Many social events, including wedding ceremonies, festivals, and other celebrations, make use of extremely loud speaker systems that compete to produce the most noise. This leads to hearing issues in staff members of all ages. To increase awareness of hearing care in CIVIC society on the occasion of World Hearing Day 2023, hearing screenings were conducted in housing societies. Adults and older adults in residential societies, as well as their cleaning staff, security personnel, and domestic assistance, underwent Pure Tone Audiometry testing.
A total of 60 people were screened that day, of whom 40 were male and 20 were female.
