Title: Listen Hear!
Description: The Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Programme in collaboration with the Malawi National Association for the Deaf (MANAD), held a musical event at Chichiri Secondary School in Blantyre, Malawi, to raise awareness of hearing health for all. This event was a community sensitization event and outreach session in celebration of World Hearing Day. We anticipate that more children and adults will have awareness of our upcoming school screening and basic primary care hearing issues and our study team (which aims to offer bone conduction devices with Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital’s clinical officers and audiologists) will be well known to all potential participants when the study starts in the coming months. Children and teachers from local Schools for the Deaf were also in attendance and sign language interpreters were on hand for the whole event.
