Description: QECH Audiology /ENT team in conjunction with Malawi Liverpool Welcome Trust, Malawi National Association for the Deaf (MANAD), Kamuzu University of Health Sciences organised the event at Chichiri secondary school under the theme: “Ear and Hearing care for all”. Lets make it a reality! The event took place on 2nd March 2023 because we wanted the students at Chichiri Day Secondary school to be among the participants. In Malawi 3rd March is a Martyr’s day and also a public holiday. The aims of the event was to create awareness, advocacy through songs, speeches and posters. Hearing screening was also part of the aim of the event. Among those who came for ear and hearing screening, 24 people had wax impaction, 2 had pus, 4 had signs of middle ear with effusion and one had fungal infection. Sign language interpreters and deaf students were also among the participants.
