Title: Sign language as a tool to improve health care in patients with hearing loss
Description: This outreach activity consisted on a round table focused in the importance of developing and promoting knowledge of spanish sign language, creating new words that facilitate and improve communication between hearing-impaired people and health professionals, inclusion, education and scientific culture in people with severe hearing loss. ENT doctors, hearing loss researchers, academia members, sign language users and patient association representatives participated in this interesting round table, which was followed by a lively discussion between panelists and assistants.
The event was accessible for people with hearing loss, as it had simultaneous translation into sign language and subtitles.
