Title: LISTEN UP: A Call for Systematic Hearing Health Monitoring and Policy Action
Description: On WHD 2023, to highlight the importance of monitoring ear and hearing health in public health systems, a team of doctors initiated several activities. They organized a public event and created an animated video to support a global health initiative’s theme of comprehensive ear and hearing care. Additionally, they conducted a policy-oriented event to share preliminary results from a project investigating hearing health inequalities in a specific integrated care system. The project aims to support evidence-based policy development. Finally, a document was submitted to a national legislative body advocating for the inclusion of hearing health indicators in government policies and the monitoring of nationwide hearing loss severity.
