Title: Report World Hearing Day 2023
Description: In March 2023, World Hearing Day saw a range of activities conducted by several Indonesian health institutions, including the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Airlangga and the Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya. These initiatives aimed to promote ear and hearing health, particularly focusing on early detection and intervention of hearing disorders. Activities included hearing screenings and ear wax cleanings at various locations, such as special needs schools, pre-schools, and Down Syndrome children’s centers. Additionally, public awareness campaigns were conducted, featuring a cycling event in Taman Bungkul, Surabaya, and an Instagram Live session titled “Let’s Check The Ears.” Furthermore, a webinar focusing on hearing disorder rehabilitation and treatments was held to educate the public on these issues. The events underscored the importance of regular hearing check-ups, early detection of hearing loss, and prompt treatment of hearing disorders.
