Title: Varun Arjun Medical College and Rohilkhand Hospital – Department of ENT, World Hearing Day 2023 Celebrations
Description: In March 2023, free ear and hearing screening camps were organized, focusing on rural communities in Uttar Pradesh, India, including locations such as government and public schools, health training centers, and our ENT outpatient department in the city of Shahjahanpur, India. Over 3,000 people, including children, received screenings, and more than 250 audiometric tests and hearing aid trials were performed. Furthermore, 30 patients benefited from free ear surgeries. The initiative included an interactive awareness session for children, parents, and teachers, addressing local practices like the application of hot oils in the ear, and providing guidance on ear care. An awareness rally was held in Saijana village, along with a training session for young doctors using WHO materials. A drawing competition themed on ‘Ear Problems & Remedies’ sparked enthusiasm among children, and an interstate live endoscopic ear surgery workshop was also conducted.
