Description: In March 2023, the ENT department at the University of Ghana Medical Centre’s (UGMC) participated in World Hearing Day. This two-day event aimed to spread awareness about ear and hearing care and offered free ear screenings for preterm babies and adults. It also hosted a seminar discussing the causes and management of hearing loss. On the first day, the staff utilized World Hearing Day guidelines to educate clients about the theme via posters, video screen displays, and social media. The second day saw the launch of the World Hearing Day theme ‘Ear and Hearing Care for All.’ The event stressed the need to incorporate ear and hearing care into primary health care services. Attendees, including ENT nurses, UGMC staff, and media representatives, engaged in discussions revolving around the presentation and shared their thoughts, maintaining a focus on the theme.
