Description: From 8 to 11 am, second-year Phonoaudiology students at the FCMSCSP interacted with patients in the waiting rooms of São Paulo’s Hospital da Santa Casa de Misericórdia’s Ambulatório do Conde de Lara. This action was part of a month-long course, “Development of Hearing Skills,” in which students prepared through theoretical classes, intensive study of WHO guidelines, and creation of a mental map on the topic. The students spoke with about 800 patients about potential ear issues such as pain, tinnitus, and ear secretions, providing advice for improving hearing health and emphasizing the importance of medical consultations. The campaign also aimed to educate patients on how to access care through the Unified Health System (SUS), especially for potential diagnoses.
