Organization: Dori Primary Community Care Services

 Region: Zambia

Title: Ear Screening

Description:

Dori Primary Community Care Services conducted an ear screening at Chilenje B primary school in Lusaka, Zambia. The initiative, which was part of the World Health Day activities, involved informing officials at the school and gaining permission to use the premises for the screening. A total of 135 individuals, comprised of 128 students and 7 adults, were screened. Of these, 10 required hospital referrals for various ear-related issues, including intermittent pain, reduced hearing, and compacted wax. The program was voluntary, which posed some challenges but was well-received by teachers and the local WHD team. Our organization, registered by the World Health Organization, hopes to continue to receive support in order to effectively execute the same beneficial programs in the future.
