Description: The Shades Center of Excellence in Mumbai organized an event titled “Ear and Hearing Care for All” to highlight the importance of hearing health in the community. The event was prompted by the prevalence of loud noise during social gatherings like weddings and festivals, which often leads to hearing issues among nearby residents and the staff of such events. In commemoration of World Hearing Day 2023, the center conducted hearing screenings for adults, elderly residents, and staff members like cleaners, security personnel, and domestic helpers using pure-tone audiometry testing. Out of the 60 individuals screened, 40 were male and 20 were female. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness in society about hearing care and the importance of protecting one’s hearing.
